Zech Group and BitStone Capital jointly invest in BIMwelt Systems GmbH

Bremen/Cologne, 27.02.2018 – The Bremen Zech Group invests together with BitStone Capital in BIMwelt Systems GmbH. As a specialist in the field of 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM), the Stuttgart-based company is one of the pioneers of digitization in the construction industry. BIM is regarded as the central key technology for the digital transformation of the entire construction industry, including component manufacturers, planners, general contractors and project developers. In 2017, BIMwelt Systems was voted one of the top 25 most innovative start-ups in the construction industry in Europe.

With this investment, the Zech Group and BitStone Capital position themselves directly in one of the core fields that will shape the future of the construction industry. With the help of the fresh capital, BIMwelt Systems will, among other things, push ahead with the expansion of its own technical platform and the acquisition of further customer and cooperation partners.

BIMwelt Systems is currently the only provider in the world that can automatically create BIM content, directly link BIM software solutions, map sales and consulting on a database-driven platform, and already cooperates with well-known component manufacturers.

Building Information Modeling is a planning method in which all those involved in the planning process are integrated and networked in the various projects and can thus access relevant component information. A three-dimensional model of a building is created (“modeled”). This model can be adapted and updated at any time and all attributes such as component type, building physics properties or costs can be simulated in real time. This results in enormous time and cost savings. In this way, projects of any kind can be realized more efficiently and in a fraction of the usual time.

“What is certain is that tomorrow’s construction site processes will be digitized and automated. It is therefore essential that we become increasingly involved in the digitization of our planning and production processes. With BIMwelt Systems, we have found a partner with whom we can push our digitization targets at the highest level,” comments Olaf Demuth, Managing Director of Zech Group GmbH.

Gregor Müller, Managing Director of BIMwelt Systems adds: “Technologically, we are already in pole position. And with the Zech Group and BitStone, we now have two partners on board with whose help we can now really step on the gas. The market potential in the construction industry is tens of billions of euros in Germany alone. From this cake we will cut ourselves off a large piece.

“We are convinced that we have laid the foundation stone for a very successful cooperation,” says Kai Panitzki, BitStone’s Managing Director: “For every company in the construction industry that wants to remain competitive, BIM will become an indispensable planning method in the near future. Together with the fantastic team from BIMwelt Systems, we will consistently expand our pioneering role in digital data modeling”.
