Since 1 July 2018, the production, development and marketing of wtec’s smartengine have been continued by the newly founded wtec GmbH based in Bad Homburg. wtec GmbH is part of the Zech Group (www.zech-group.com). smartengine is a revolutionary system, which forms the basis for a Smart Building infrastructure with the help of a fine-meshed sensor network, as well as real-time data and control. The intelligent technology uses an IT infrastructure to transmit electricity and data. LED luminaires are operated as efficiently as possible and even enable individual, flexible Human Centric Smart Lighting. Thanks to smartengine, complex building infrastructures are a thing of the past. It is a perfect foundation in an open, secure and networked building and clears the way for all applications that are important for tenants, operators and investors.

The Zech Group is convinced that buildings will become more intelligent in the future: The advancing digitalization offers various possibilities to create added value for users, operators and owners. The targeted identification of these added values by linking buildings, users, operators and external services via a digital building infrastructure and interaction with users via apps is one of the keys to the success of intelligent buildings and will offer a growing market. smartengine is the central nervous system of smart building. The Zech Group will continue to invest in these developments, technology and growth in the future. “Just like the Zech Group, wtec is committed to creating added value for our customers. We share the same values as highest quality, fair and responsible partnerships, trust and dedication to innovation and the customer. With the Zech Group, we have found the right partner to establish the smartengine standard for highly efficient and intelligent lighting control worldwide. The Zech Group’s striving for innovation and intelligent real estate solutions motivates our team to develop further approaches for IT-based sensor and control networks that make it possible to use buildings more efficiently, safely and easily,” emphasizes Daniel Massey, Managing Director of wtec GmbH. Matthias Debecki and Johannes Nußbaum will also join the management team.

“We have successfully established smartengine on the world market in recent years. With the support and reach of the Zech Group, we will grow significantly with our partners in Europe, Asia and America in the future,” reports Tim Miscovich, Director of Business Development at wtec GmbH.
